Hand Painted Silk Scarves

Nuno felting is a process of laminating very fine merino wool roving onto a base fabric such as silk, and then using various rolling

techniques to embed the wool fibers into the fabric. Many different steps are involved and include hand dying the

wool rovings separately in pots of hot water with acid dye. The scarves are also separately hand dyed or

painted and steam set. The wool is then laid on the surface of the silk fabric in a pleasing design.
